Check out the Africa section, featuring elephants and other animals. The North American section features polar bears, sea lions and some amazing playgrounds.

The North Carolina Zoo is the world’s largest walk-through zoo at over 2000 acres. There are more than 1,600 animals from more than 250 species represented.

Currently, there are two sections to the zoo: Africa and North America. The Africa section opened first, with the North American section opening in 1993 and completed in 1996.

The most popular exhibit in the North American section is the Rocky Coast, which includes harbor seals, sea birds, sea lions and the polar bears!
