Original video with cross captions and caption controls: [ Ссылка ]
You can also download the Chrome extension to view these captions and use caption controls on the original YouTube video: [ Ссылка ]

Both options allow you to customize the colors and sizes of the captions.
You can edit or create cross captions for any YouTube video on axtongue.com. You can also convert the result into a closed caption file that you can use for your own YouTube videos.
You can generate cross captions with AI. You can get a result that is good enough for studying in seconds, especially if there are already captions on YouTube, or you have a transcript. If you want to present it as a completed piece, though, it needs to be touched up.
The AxTongue app/website also features an integrated flashcard-like system. If you want to practice "speaking" a language instead of just listening to it, you can choose one of the "concealment" options. This hides words in the subtitles. The goal is to try to figure out what word goes in the blank before it appears, allowing you to practice coming up with words on your own. If you're sure you know a word, you can check it off, so it won't be concealed in any video in the future, allowing you to target other words.
You can then "prune" the words you have checked on a page inspired by the Leitner system. If you can come up with a checked word again, you move it up in rank. If you can't, you move it down. If it turns out you didn't remember a word after all, you can move it to rank 0, and it will start being concealed for you in future videos again.
This is an especially effective method for learning a language, but it is more labor-intensive. If it comes down to it, it's much better to just watch cross captions and relax than to avoid using cross captions because you don't feel like pruning words.
