A suspect is in custody after a UNC Charlotte student reported their car was taken at gunpoint on campus Thursday, according to UNC Charlotte Emergency Management. No injuries were reported.
The UNC Charlotte Police Department received a call from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department shortly after 2 p.m. about the incident. It happened near the intersection of Van Landingham Road and Martin Village Road, which is on the edge of campus.
On Thursday around 8:30 p.m., CMPD recovered the vehicle, where they also found the suspect, Mark Jordan Williams II, and arrested him.
