Adding the Quilting from the Back Kit to the Simply Sixteen with Little Foot Frame makes quilting edge to edge designs much easier, even if you're relatively new to quilting. The laser light at the back of the machine is used to follow a printed line. By following the line the design is reproduced on your quilt. Simples!
In this timelapse video Liz Holpin from Pinhole Quilting explains how she tested out the design first - it's always a good idea to finger trace the design so that it is in your muscle memory. Each time the quilt is progressed it is realigned using a method that locks the wheels in place with the included Channel Locks. The Channel Locks are a great way to check that the quilt is aligned evenly and at regular spacing down the quilt.
This is just a quick video to give you an idea of what pantographs are and how a quilt was quilted using them. Including basting the quilt, loading it and quilting it, this quilt took two and a half hours to quilt using the Simply Sixteen. The pattern used was the Drift design which is included with the Quilting from the Back Kit.
