Hi, this video shows you how to make your Nintendo Wii U portable. It is NOT as portable as the Nintendo Switch because you still have to carry the Wii U console but you can take it and use it anywhere in the world without access to AC power.
This video will only be relevant to current Wii U users who might want to use the Wii U on the go.
If you are looking to buy a new portable console then obviously you would buy the 2DS XL, 3DS XL, PS Vita or Nintendo Switch but I spent £35 (less than the price of a Switch 1st party game) to make my existing Wii U portable which in my opinion is money well spent for the added flexibility to play Wii U as well as Wii, N64, SNES etc. on the go.
WARNING!!!!
You would need to make sure that the backpack had enough airflow around the Wii U console to stop overheating so the rear fan and top and side vents needs to get airflow. Ideally you want the Wii U console out to keep cool.
If you do use a setup similar to the one used in the video then you will need to glue the voltage selector on the laptop charger to 15V because if it was bouncing around in a backpack then it could get knocked and jump to 20V etc and damage the Wii U. It would be best to find a power supply that only outputs 15V to reduce the risk of damage.
Many thanks Vince.
