Burg Eltz
Situated between Koblenz and Trier, near the Moselle River, is the Burg Eltz Castle that was originally built in the 12th century. Today’s incarnation was rebuilt in the late 15th to early 16th century and is one of the only castles in this region to not have been destroyed by war.
Hohenzollern Castle
The Hohenzollern Castle was originally built in the 11th century on a countryside hilltop. It suffered complete devastation over the centuries with only the chapel surviving. In the mid-19th century, King William IV of Prussia built this spectacular structure that still stands today.
