Allergies are the most common noninfectious disease that affects 10 to 25% of the worldwide population both adults and children. Allergic rhinitis is where your nose gets irritated by something you're allergic to, such as pollen, causing sneezing and other symptoms. If the allergies are not treated or diagnosed, one-third of allergic rhinitis may progress to lower respiratory allergies like bronchitis and asthma. Diagnosis for allergy is known as an allergen skin prick test.
Dr. Ria Emmanuel, Consultant - ENT at Narayana Multispeciality Hospital, HSR layout talks in detail about allergic rhinitis.
