Darren Sciford offers a tour of our Materials Testing Lab, which is responsible for ensuring public safety by testing the quality and integrity of the materials that go into our city's streets and infrastructure. They provide professional quality control services to ensure that construction materials used in projects are in compliance with contract plans and specifications. Both in the laboratory and out in the streets, the technicians test soil compactness and consistency, asphalt composition, and concrete strength. In addition, the lab follows stringent American Society for Testing and Materials guidelines in order to ensure that materials are properly analyzed.
