On December 2, 2024, an emergency meeting was held in Dimapur involving the NFHRCC, Dimapur-based Tribal Hohos, and the Young Nagas Action Committee to discuss the Foothills Road project. They passed a joint resolution stating that the Foothills Road is a people's initiative and cannot be controlled by any individual or organization. They also emphasized that any change in the road’s alignment must have written consent from the NFHRCC, and failure to adhere to this will result in severe consequences. The resolution also stated that the work assignment granted to the Committee by the government should not be altered, and any attempt to do so would be seen as a betrayal. They urged the State Government or the concerned department to issue the work order within four days, warning that if the deadline is not met, all participants from the 12 Tribes would withdraw from the Hornbill Festival.
