I built an underground bushcraft shelter inside of an 1800s cabin foundation. The shelter was built over several days using basic hand tools and a good pair of leather gloves. The first step was constructing a solid roof, that I then covered over with branches and a thick coat of leaves. After the roof was complete, I applied some camouflage using brush from the area so my shelter remains private. Inside, I built a stone fire place and a surprisingly comfy bed. It doesn’t look like it, but those small branches added to the top of the bed give a surprising amount of comfort. When the shelter was complete, I came back for an overnight camp using my Jerven Fjellduken King to sleep in. I cook a delicious steak on my campfire and make some refreshing spruce tea.
Thanks for joining me!
