In this video, Sylvia Gordon of the Medicare Family talks about being penalized if you don't take Medicare Part B. If you are eligible for Medicare and you don't take it without any other coverage good or better than Medicare then you will get a penalty. When you are penalized under Medicare Part B, you are usually subjected to a lifetime penalty under Part D. However, there is good news: once you reach the age of 65, the penalty is no longer applicable.
