Refugees from Afghanistan met the Working President of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday. The meeting with Jagat Prakash Nadda took place at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi. The refugees expressed gratitude over the recent amendments to the Citizenship law. The changes make it easier for non-Muslim migrants from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh to become Indian citizens if they entered the country on or before December 31, 2014. Nadda used the opportunity to hit out at the Opposition for protesting against the CAA for 'vote bank politics'. The meeting also took place on a day when protests against the new Act were organised in many parts of the country.
