Our All of U Health Education Series continued October 14, 2020 with a presentation and Q&A session on Breast Cancer. Though our anticipated speaker, Dr. Amanda Kong, was unable to present, we learned a lot about breast cancer from Dr. Jeff Whittle, Staff Physician at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center and Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine.
In this video, you’ll learn about breast cancer risk factors and prevalence, the controversy around screening recommendations, current treatment options, and the importance of being your doctor’s partner in decision-making.
CORRECTION: In the Q&A session, the statement about oral contraceptives protecting against breast cancer is incorrect. Oral contraceptives protect against cervical and ovarian cancer but NOT against breast cancer. We regret the error.
