Folding Down the Rear Seats (if so equipped)
Folding the rear seats provides increased load capacity -- especially important when carrying longer items. Either one or both of the rear seatbacks can be folded forward to create this extra storage space when needed.
First, secure the side seat belts onto the belt hooks on the side wall. Next, disconnect the rear center seat belt. Release the shoulder strap from its connector buckle by inserting a key into the slot on the side of the connector buckle. Then fully retract the seatbelt into the retractor base. Now, remove the rear headrests by pressing and holding this button. Then, pull up until the headrest is released from the seatback. Be sure to securely store the headrests to prevent them from causing injury to passengers or damage to the vehicle in case of sudden braking or an accident.
Pull up on this loop on the front of the seat cushion. While pulling up, flip the seat cushion forward, so that the bottom of the seat cushion is facing the rear of the vehicle. Repeat this step for the second seat cushion.
Now you're ready to fold the seatback forward for storage. Pull the strap on the outside edge of the rear seat and fold the seatback forward. Repeat this step on the other side of the rear seats to lower both seatbacks.
When you return the rear seats to the upright position, be sure to properly reset the headrests and seat belts. To reset the headrests, insert the posts into the seatback while pressing this button. Then, push down until they reach the original position. When raising the seatback for passenger use, ensure it is locked into position.
