I had the opportunity to see the Bogdanovich Glacier which I highly recommend to visit. It is an amazing hike in the mountains outside of Almaty. There are 3 lifts that take you to the top of the mountain on the way to the glacier, and it costs 4000 Tenge which converts to 8.75$ USD for a round trip ticket. I recommend renting some equipment for this hike if you are doing it in winter because it is quite slippery. You can rent equipment when you arrive at the area where you catch the first lift.
