Lisa Gade reviews the Lenovo ThinkPad T470s, the refresh of the T460s with Intel 7th generation dual core 15 watt CPUs and Thunderbolt 3. The slim 18.8mm ThinkPad T470s weighs 2.9 lbs. (1.3 kg) and starts at $1,179. It’s more affordable than the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, and is lighter and better appointed than the ThinkPad T470 that’s $100 less. The T470s is available in black and silver, and it features Lenovo’s usual excellent backlit keyboard and an excellent trackpad with NavPoint.
The Ultrabook has a 14” matte IPS display (1080p, 1080p touch and WQHD options available), PCIe NVMe on all but the base models, DDR4 RAM and your choice of Core i5 and i7 CPUs with Intel HD 620 graphics. A fingerprint scanner and 4G LTE are optional.
