The beloved British actor, writer and presenter appeared on the Jordan B Peterson podcast. Mr Fry and Mr Peterson, a world renowned psychologist, discussed a variety of topics including politics - and even touched upon the role of the monarchy.
Mr Fry said many of the happiest countries in the world “happen to be constitutional monarchies”.
Revealing his own beliefs, he admitted that the Royal Family “on the face of it is of course preposterous”, but went on to explain how they can play a key role in society.
The author referred to the Queen’s weekly Audience with the Prime Minister and suggested that the US could benefit from having a Monarch.
