Rabbi Werber on CBST's "holy community of radical care," in her first drashah as our Assistant Rabbi:
"I have no idea what these next few months or years will look like. Monkeypox? More COVID? More nonsense with the Supreme Court? A renewed fight for LGBT rights that we thought were put to get bed long ago?
Unfortunately, most likely, yes. But here's what I do know. I would not want to be anywhere else other than CBST.
During these uncertain and precarious times, I would not want to be anywhere other than this holy community of radical care, where we will continue to do the vitally important work of caring for one another in the small and mundane ways.
We will continue to pick up the pieces that have been neglected or fallen apart by the country at large and we will continue to carry the burden together and know that we are not alone."
Assistant Rabbi Yael Werber delivered this drashah at Kabbalat Shabbat services on August 5, 2022 / 9 Av 5782.
Be in community with CBST at Kabbalat Shabbat services, Fridays at 6:30 p.m. ET, either in person or streaming live on CBST’s website ([ Ссылка ]).
