If you're looking for beginner lessons and easy songs to learn to play on 3 string cigar box guitar you've come to the right place! This is my third full length “Learn To Play Beatles on 3 string cigar box guitar” lesson showing how to play a simple yet very effective version of Eleanor Rigby. The song first appeared on the excellent Revolver album in 1966.
There are three main sections in the song with most of it using only two chords - D minor and B flat so this really is one that beginners and players who are new to 3 string cigar box guitar can pick up very quickly.
The verse starts with a damped D minor chord followed by the B flat played at the 8th fret. There is a bridge section that features a descending run down on the middle string from C played at the 3rd fret to A at the open position. The chorus features the same two chords used in the verse, only played in reverse; i.e. starting with the B flat.
Finally, I have suggested a few notes to end the song, but as usual, just play around with what you think sounds best.
Main Chords Played:
D minor, B flat
