Birmingham, Alabama, ‘The Magic City’, boomed before the depression, so there’s vintage to be found! We recently (not too) got to visit Hanna Antiques Mall, a place I discovered three years ago.
Gracious Southern Living style interiors and a lot of striking furniture make this a place for interior designers, decorators and lovers of true antiques. Yet showcase merchandise and decorative vintage accents reveal quality items at favorable prices for resale! I love being able to find bargains in a high-end “expensive” antique mall.
Pretty and traditional, the mall’s large spaces reveal specialties in vintage garden and patio, a bedroom you could live in now and a stained glass door. Dickens ware (a bargain I should’ve bought) and a Golden Hour modernist clock (a bargain I did buy) pop out in this large store.
Know what’s a Wooton? I came back to this mall because it’s fun filled, with unusual and attractive articles of yore. A 1950s Japanese sci-fi car in its original box, unusual military tintypes and a really old foosball table were surprises amidst carved, painted and ebonized furniture that speaks to Alabama’s French heritage. A list of other highlights follows below…
I hope my review of this stately Birmingham antique pavilion helps you learn more about antique and vintage items, inspires collectors to broaden their horizons and informs resellers about vintage items of value! I’m happy to be sharing my real world vintage encounters with the online community, I love sharing our passion and hope we will all help each other with our antique education. I say this every time (if anyone reads this far), but I really mean it!
Here’s some more of what we find in this antique and vintage center:
