Abashiri (網走市, Abashiri-shi) is a city located in Okhotsk Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan

It is near the shores of Okhotsk are the Southernmost point where the ocean freezes. You can ride an icebreaker boat from Abashiri port. You can enjoy seeing the boat break the ice that were coming from Russia.

How to go there:
You can take a direct bus from Memanbetsu Airport to Abashiri Station then a direct bus going to Aurora Boarding place.
You can also take a 5.5 hours train from Sapporo station to Abashiri station.

In this video, we stayed at Kiki Shiretoko Natural Resort hotel, there is also bus going directly to Aurora Boarding place.
