For Liberians, that have always wondered how this was made.
For Nigerians, especially those who can do without Hollandia can always make this as well as those in Diaspora who crave the FanYogo taste of their childhood and want to relieve that beautiful memory.
This is an easy recipe that anyone can make.
INGREDIENTS:
750ml Milk
1 cup Plain Unsweetened Yoghurt (at room temperature)
To flavor the yoghurt drink (optional)
¼ Cup Sugar
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
* Pour milk into bowl. If using powdered milk, dissolve milk well. The more cups of milk in ratio to water used, the sweeter the end product will be especially if you are using full cream milk.
*You can taste as you dissolve till you get to your desired taste. Ensure milk is fully dissolved before adding in your yoghurt.
*Mix and cover. Keep on counter or on fridge if there is no space on counter.
*Wait for 24 hours and if you like it more sour, 48 hours.
*Once you are done incubating, stir to loosen and then strain if you feel there are lumps, before sweetening or flavoring to your taste.
*Take as soon as it is chilled.
*How long you should store should be entirely dependent on how fresh the yoghurt you used was. If store bought yoghurt, use before the best date on the pack.
If homemade yoghurt, consume within a week from when you made your yoghurt.
