(2024-02-19 Update - the newest version of the DOS device driver adds support for multiple network drives. Now you can add up to 24 drives, 2 GB each!)
Three months ago I demonstrated a project that I was working on. Since then I've added a lot to it and formally released the first version of it so I figured it was time to create a proper video.
mTCP NetDrive lets you add storage to your DOS machine over the network. The server side runs under Windows or Linux and it serves standard virtual disk images. Performance will be best on your local network but because IP/UDP is routable you can connect a DOS client to a remote server far away. The server is available for Windows and Linux (x86 and Arm).
The DOS device driver works on all versions of DOS going back to 2.0. The driver takes up about 6KB of RAM and it can be loaded high. You also need another 5 to 10KB for the packet driver used to talk to the network card.
