European Hornet Nest might be something you want to keep your distance from, but that does not mean they are out to attack you. These Hornets or Wasps are big, over and inch long, and they are the only true Hornets that live in North America. They make their nest out of chewed up wood fibers that they turn into paper. Hornets are usually confused with Yellowjackets, other wasps and honey bees. Vespula is a type of hyminoptera that has black and yellow stripes and powerful jaws and venomous sting.
