On 18 July 2019, ANROWS hosted a conversation about attitudes towards violence against women and gender equality among people from non-English speaking countries, drawing on results of the 2017 National Community Attitudes towards Violence against Women Survey (NCAS). Conducted by ANROWS, this survey examined understandings of violence against women, attitudes towards violence against women, and attitudes to gender equality.
Among the 17,500 Australians surveyed, nearly 3000 reported being born in a country where English is not the main language spoken (i.e. “NMESC” – non main English speaking country). This webinar launches the research report on community attitudes among this sub-sample of respondents.
