Mana village, situated in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India, has undergone a notable rebranding. Formerly known as "India's Last Village" due to its proximity to the Indo-Tibetan border, it is now known as the "First Indian Village".
Mana's proximity to the revered Badrinath Temple, one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites, adds to its spiritual allure. Pilgrims often visit Mana as part of their journey to Badrinath, seeking blessings and experiencing the divine ambiance. The village is also home to several ancient caves, including the Vyas Cave and the Ganesh Cave, named after the sage Vyasa who is believed to have composed the Mahabharata here, and Lord Ganesha who served as his scribe.
Surrounded by the majestic Himalayan peaks, Mana is a paradise for nature lovers and adventurers. The village is the starting point for several trekking routes, including the popular trek to Vasudhara Falls, a stunning waterfall located about 6 kilometres from Mana. The trail to the falls offers breathtaking views of the mountains and lush green valleys, making it a must-visit for trekking enthusiasts.
