Art block is bound to happen. I didn’t paint anything for weeks until I changed my mindset to embrace art block instead of fear it. I painted three small oil paintings to push through art block. I began with an eye painting study to ease back into painting. Then I painted a little bumble bee from life which was so much fun as an entirely new subject matter! Lastly, I painted a portrait of a character from The Spanish Princess, one of my recent historical fiction obsessions haha. I also took a trip to the library to find some motivational / inspirational art books. They really helped me and I share my favorite parts with you in this vlog. Hopefully the tips I share with you about keeping a positive mental space will help make art block less threatening and more like an opportunity to let loose and try something new! #artblock #paintwithme #oilpainting
