Karolina and her brothers Leo & Nicky perform Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen in front of the Wonders of the World Museum & Gift Shop, and the Cleopatra Ink Tattoo Shop on the 1300 block of the 3rd St Promenade, across the street from the Dodger's Clubhouse Store. This is on a breezy, overcast late afternoon in December 2024.
SIO's Eagle Eyes:
I see there are Christmas decorations, and banners that say 'Happy Holidays' which indicates that it is getting close to Christmas.
Little Nicholas is wearing a grey hoodie, probably over a white collared shirt, a sea foam-green fleece pullover sweater, turkey-red jeans, carrot-orange socks, and tan colour leather laced walking boots.
Leo is wearing an apricot-colour flannel, collared shirt, champagne-colour jeans, dark socks, and beige suede low-top walking shoes.
Karolina is wearing a royal blue, long sleeve, mid-thigh length dress and inner skirt, with a Dodger blue belt to which she has a wireless microphone transmitter attached at the back, dark tights, and black combat boots. She is wearing her long hair pulled back and held in place with a black hair elastic to end in a high ponytail.
At the start of the video, Karolina is waiting for her cue to play her violin as Leo is playing the opening of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' on his digital piano. Nicky is standing with his tambourine beside a black folding stool, waiting for his cue to begin singing into his microphone, mounted on a tripod stand. They are situated at the curb in front of the Wonders of the World Museum & Gift Shop, and the Cleopatra Ink Tattoo Shop.
In the back of Leo, I see a 3rd St Promenade regular who I call 'The Old Woman in glasses who uses a wheeled walker or Rollator' who is watching from close up to see the concert. She is wearing a black hooded jacket, an apricot scarf wrapped from the top of her head to under her chin, a navy blue dress/skirt, and dark blue low-top sneakers with white mid-soles.
Ella is walking from behind Karolina to get closeup video of Leo playing.
At 8 sec, Karolina begins to play the melody. I recognize a grey haired man wearing a black Polo shirt with silver horizontal stripes & blue-grey pants who is sitting in the apple-green Adirondack chair over by the tree as a 3rd St Promenade regular.
Nicky looks to his mom as he holds up his tambourine, Ella nods to him to start playing the tambourine.
At 19 sec, the old woman rises from her wheeled walker/Rolator to leave.
At 44 sec, the old woman walks her Rolator past the lamppost where the familiar man who always wears a blue L.A. Dodger ball cap is standing. He is wearing a dark winter jacket over a cornflower blue shirt, and blue-grey pants.
At 1:12 sec, the old woman has returned and is now dancing next to her wheeled walker.
At 1:29 sec, we see Nik is shooting video of the concert from the center rain gutter in the middle of the street.
At 1:31 sec, another 3rd St Promenade regular, the large man in a blue & grey jacket over a turquoise shirt, with red shorts sitting in the orange Adirondack chair lsooks on as Nicky begins to sing the chorus.
At 1:51 sec, Nicky stops singing despite the song not ending yet.
At 2:10 sec, Karolina and Leo reach the end of the song.
Apparently Nicky stopped at the proper time. He knew that the song was reaching its end, so he stopped the chorus. Pretty smart for the nearly 4 year old to understand that.
The audience cheer and applaud. Karolina smiles and looks back at Leo as she starts to bow.
