In this Excel Function Explained video series, I’ll unveil how to use Trim function in Excel. Excel Trim function is often used to Trim text or remove extra spaces from a text string in excel. This is one of the best ways to clean data in excel. You’ll be able to remove extra spaces from before, after or in between words. Whenever you are dealing with more than one space, you can use trim function.

Let’s study how to use Trim formula in excel.

The Function looks like this = TRIM (Text)

The Trim function has only one parameter or argument.

1. Text: In this parameter, we need to either paste the text or specify the cell from where we need to Trim the string.

Before using this function remember that, Trim only removes extra spaces, not the single space between words. So, with this you can cleanup both starting and trailing spaces in excel along with some extra one in between.
This is how we use Trim in excel. Remember, using Trim function in excel you actually tell excel formula to remove spaces based on the number of spaces a line has.
