Unlike in rock climbing, a ski mountaineering anchor is no place to hang out. There is almost always exposure from above (avalanche hazard) and exposure from below (falling off the cliff you are about to rappel).
So having a super dialed system for rolling into and out of anchors as a team is crucial. Here is one of the techniques that we teach in Big Mountain Snow Safety.
Come join us this winter for a one-of-kind course. You will learn how to dial in technical systems, develop a repeatable process for making high consequence decisions, and how to evaluate snow on the fly.
