Training video: Documenting Biodiversity - Teaser
In this training video series, taxonomists of the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences explain how to give a name to a newly discovered species, and why this is important. They guide you through the process of taxonomy – from the identification to the name, conservation, and heritage role of species.
The two scientists, Jérôme Constant and Joachim Bresseel, have been working together for many years both in the field in Asia and in the labs of the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences. The collaboration between these two researchers, a scientist and a citizen scientist, led to the discovery and description of numerous new insect species.
