Although it might seem a very small nuanse in tone quality from one preamp tube to another, this vintage Mullard preamp tube is making a lot of difference to my ears. The harmonics in the tones from the amp comes out much more inspiring with the 1950s Mullard ECC83 preamp tube. I have experienced this with my other amps as well, and there's just some magic happening with this particular brand of tubes. I have similar experience with a Philips Miniwatt from that era.
