Hotel Overview: Residence Inn by Marriott SFO Millbrae Station at Gateway Millbrae offers an all-suites experience, complete with fully equipped kitchens and utensils—ideal for long or short stays. Though breakfast is complimentary, the option to prepare your meals adds a personal touch.
My Stay Experience: I stayed on the top floor (5th) and found the suite spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hotel offers thoughtful amenities, including a BBQ grill area and a cozy fireplace on the top floor, perfect for enjoying drinks with a view of the SFO runway. If you need to do laundry, the machines on the first floor are reliable and easy to use.
Convenience & Amenities: The parking lot is large, with a gas station conveniently located next door. There are plenty of nearby dining options, and you can easily walk to El Camino Real or hop on public transportation. The hotel also provides a small business area, a market for quick essentials, and a gym with a water fountain—plus complimentary bottled water at check-in.
Location Advantage: I found this location much more convenient than downtown San Francisco, especially when avoiding traffic or catching a flight. Public transportation is a breeze—simply take the BART from SFO for one stop to Millbrae Station, and the hotel is right in front of you. This makes it easy to skip car rentals and traffic hassles altogether.
This hotel stands out for its spacious suites, great amenities, and prime location, making it my go-to choice when flying in or out of SFO.
