While working in Peru in 2011, Nisolo Founder & CEO Patrick Woodyard met a large community of shoemakers and confronted two major problems: Despite their talent and ambition, they faced unsafe working conditions and wages that could not even cover their most basic living expenses. He soon realized that no footwear brand at the time offered quality products at an affordable price or produced products in a way that treated people and the planet with dignity.
Thus began Nisolo, which means “Neither Alone” in Spanish. Their products are high-quality, stylish, comfortable, and functional. Nisolo’s vision is to push fashion in a more sustainable direction that values the planet and producers within the industry just as much as end consumers. Every Nisolo purchase supports living wages and the offsetting of 100% of their carbon emissions across their entire supply chain by protecting trees from deforestation in the Amazon basin.
