If the actuator motor of the turbocharger is defective, there will be a message in the fault memory.
The actuator motor can be replaced without replacing the entire turbocharger.
The actuator motor is now easily accessible.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
Remove the retaining clip on the actuator arm.
Make sure that the retaining clip does not fall into the engine compartment.
In order to unscrew the motor, remove the three internal Torx bolts at the rear of the motor.
Attach the new actuator motor in the reverse order.
When inserting, slide the actuator lever of the motor into the actuating linkage.
The self-tapping screws are slightly more difficult to screw in than normal screws.
Reattach the retaining clip to the actuator lever.
Before teaching in the engine, attach all removed parts in the engine compartment.
Start the teach-in process with Star Diagnosis.
Call up the teach-in menu and select the boost pressure regulator.
Start the teach-in process.
Manually actuate the actuator motor to test it.
To do so, move the slider to both end positions.
You can hear the movements of the actuator motor.
After erasing the fault memory, replacement of the actuator motor is complete.
