IV Organic® 3-in-1 Plant Guard: [ Ссылка ]
Grafting is a way to rejuvenate old trees, control tree size from dwarf to standard (or vise versa by selecting the type of rootstock), or to develop an All-In-One Fruit Tree… like this fig tree with 10 flavors all going in the footprint of a single tree. All these figs were accomplished using the Approach Grafting technique:
Both Rootstock & Scion (desired flavor to graft) remain on their own roots for at least 6-8 weeks, while the cambium layers heal becoming one.
The cambium layer is that GREEN LAYER (only a few cells thick) that transports the waters, sugars, and minerals between the outer bark & underlying supporting wood.
This here is our Lisbon lemon, Approach Grafted with Ponderosa Lemons & Mexican Limes. Since 6-8 week healing period has passed, so, today we will separate the scion (desired flavor) from its roots—as it will now get all is resources from the grafted rootstock.
Remove any fruit in the first year so the added weight does not damage the graft that needs that first year (or two) to harden & strengthen.
*** Remember to protect your grafts with IV Organic 3-in-1 Plant Guard from pests & disease.
