A group of protesting farmers held the BJP MLA from Hisar, Kamal Gupta, hostage at the rest house here today.
The protesters raised slogans against the government while cornering him in the main hall of the rest house.
Gupta had reached the rest house to hold a meeting of the party workers to discuss the strategy for the Ellenabad bypoll. However, as he reached there, he was informed by the rest house staff that the main hall was already booked by the farmers who were holding a meeting.
The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
