Nextorch MT10
General thoughts after a week of usage/size comparison/practicality/interesting things:
• So this is the Nextorch MT10 - it's my go-to 10-in-1 multitool for odd jobs around the house and for some outdoor tasks too. Nextorch must have read my mind when making this thing, as it has all the 'best hits' in terms of tools that I use the most. All the tools can be accessed from the exterior besides the pliers. This is important for me as it saves time and also makes it safer to deploy each tool-less fiddling around.
• The MT10 is painted black, which makes it less noticeable than bare stainless steel, and also looks great! 245 grams, and feels balanced, and comfortable in hand. Stainless steel material: 30CR13 (body), 50CR15MoV (blade), K30 high chromium steel (wire cutter blades)
• Demonstration of each tool + cutting demos.
Considerations
• Not sure about the long-term durability of the black coating. I'll have to do a long-term review to find out. It won't affect the performance of the tool anyway.
• The larger tools - pliers and scissors feel slightly unbalanced in the hand, due to one side of the tool being heavier. Not a dealbreaker and I can use both without any issues. I guess there has to be some kind of trade-off to fit both full-sized pliers/scissors in a pocketable multitool.
Verdict
The Nextorch MT10 is my most used multitool, simply because it has everything I need on a day-to-day basis. I don't need a 20-in-1 multitool that I'm fumbling around with to open and deploy a screwdriver. The ease of access to each tool from the exterior is a time saver and having both full sized pliers and scissors is a game-changer.
