MATSURI, the 1st Toronto Japanese Summer Festival, is a time of celebration of Japanese culture, music, art and cuisine.
With traditional and modern live musical and dance performances, and a market featuring live arts & craft and the best of Toronto Japanese food illuminated in the lights of the city, this is the Toronto's first Japanese Matsuri!
Performances include Japanese drumming by Raging Asian
Women Taiko Group, Yosakoi dance by Sakura Mai, and modernized Japanese folk by Toronto's renowned Ten Ten. Special square features include a live spray-paint mural by visual artist Spencer Harrington, "Random", and two traditional Japanese Geisha, among other activities. The festival is open to the public and free for everyone.
