Shorebirds and waterbirds are an amazing feature of Australia’s wetlands and coastlines. From cormorants and coots, to stilts, stints and sandpipers, every year tens of thousands of shorebirds migrate south from their northern hemisphere breeding ground to spend summer on our wetlands and coastlines. We are fortunate to have these biodiversity hotspots right on our doorstep.
So how can we support them? Three words: PROTECT. CONSERVE. OBSERVE.
That's why, through the Two Great Ramsar Wetlands project, the Port Phillip & Westernport CMA is working with government agencies, not-for-profit organisations and community groups to protect these amazing natural wonders and the plants and animals that call them home.
