Back into the FE8 ROM hack well, we got a nice goosey from caladrius, who put in quite a lot of effort for what is essentially a one-person project for a long portion of its time. What starts off as basically a trussed up FE8 retelling quicky turns into its own thing after the first act concludes.

After learning of the folk tale of "The Lonely Mirror", we find Princess Leah of Ametona deep in thought of her current lot in life. Her country has recently begun battle with the Celyste army and her pops was sent to the frontlines with no word of how his campaign fares(spoilers: terribly), but Celyste is encroaching on her castle, so Leah is preparing to escape with her maid and good buddy Kathryn. The preparations are expedited when Celyste forces ambush the castle far sooner than expected, so she's on the run like lightning. While having sparse encounters with an unknown group of assailants, her main goal is to press toward Celyste and see if she can't turn the tides in her favor.

Her journey has her come to blows with the White Lions mercenary group headed by a man named Boone, who are under Celyste employ. Boone finds this all fishy, but the man's gotta eat, so he's willing to play ball for a while as he also understands Leah's plight. Meanwhile, a young girl named Lael is concerned aout her older brother Devante, who's not been himself lately. Something about a malevolent melody from an enchanted harp... This kid may be socially awkward, but darn it, she's got a job to do too. All three of these folks will soon unite under a common cause.
