The Mayor of the besieged Bosnian enclave of Bihac has made an impassioned plea to the world to save his people from slaughter at the hands of Serb troops who are now inside the city .
In a crackly radio message from inside the so-called safe-haven to the United Nations in New York, he bitterly criticised UN and NATO forces for not acting to prevent the Serbian advance.

Ladies and gentlemen Mr Kabiljajic has up-to-date news on the situation in Bihac for you now. The Serb troops who have in the past two days have taken the hill south of the city and Zhega suburb - the southern suburb of Bihac, are penetrating from both directions. From the hill in the southern part of the city, they're penetrating towards the centre of the city and they're penetrating southwest from the suburb of Zhega. They are very close to the hospital to evacuate 2,000 wounded and sick but as there is constant incoming fire these attempts are thwarted. They risk the lives of both the injured and those who attend the evacuation. The people of Bihac this night are scared and in panic they are awaiting what they see as a Serbian slaughter. "
