Our precious blue planet has been around for 4.54 billion years, but these catastrophes could destroy earth and wipe out humanity forever. The apocalyptic scenarios described vary significantly in terms of likelihood, but they all represent fascinating scenarios in which earth is ultimately destroyed. Perhaps this will simply serve as a reminder to protect the one planet we do live on - and never to take her for granted.
