WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP -- A transformer fire has knocked out power for 3,200 customers in the area Social Row Road. Football fans have waited all year for this night. And, a half hour before the Super Bowl kicked off, the lights go out in Washington Township. First thought in my mind, Oh no, Peyton Manning. I won't get to see him, because I'm a big Peyton Manning fan, says Vicki Lee. But, Vicki Lee and her son Michael took it all in stride. They were eating dinner when their house in Washington Township went dark, finishing their meal via candlelight. Vicki and Michael though didnt seem to mind. Michael says, It's kind of nice don't do that stuff very often. I'm sure a lot of people upset about Super Bowl. DP L said around 6 P.M. a power pole caught fire, knocking out power to 3,200 customers along State Route 48 and Sheehan Road. Shane Conner said he was supposed to have a Super Bowl party at his house, but when his guests learned his big screen TV was out of commission, they fled to Frickers.Shane on the other hand Jerry-rigged a little power. I backed up one of my work trucks and hooked up the generators to my TV and lights in the Living Room so at least me and my family can enjoy the Super Bowl.
