Chinmay Murthy is an 11-year-old 5th grader at Paragon Preparatory Middle School in Austin. He plays basketball and tennis and enjoys going on bike rides. He plays the piano and is a Webelos Scout. The best places he's visited are France, Britain and Ireland; he'd like to go to Papua New Guinea.

Chinmay will be competing at the national level of the National Geographic Bee in Washington, D.C. Watch the top ten students compete for scholarships totaling $50,000 on the National Geographic Channel on Thursday, May 23 at 7 p.m. The finals will be broadcast later on public television stations. Check local listings.
