To be a PARTICIPANT in a meeting organised by your friend, you do not need to set up anything in Webex - just give your friend your email address. Ok, so let's start:
Further to my video yesterday, I am now putting one up that explains how you can use the Webex software to keep in contact with any group of friends via telephone where as MANY people as you like are all connected to the same call.
This was prompted by a friend who suggested that although bridge on bridgebase.com (see my video yesterday) was good, he and his friends missed the social interaction that occurs as one chats around the bridge table.
Using Webex will solve this problem. It also will mean any group, such as your Sunday morning coffee group, can still meet for that regular catch-up.
The video goes for 15 minutes, even though I said after 9 minutes that I was ending. I showed some more advanced features in the later minutes, like editing an existing meeting.
PS: The email addresses I used in the example such as queen@royal.gov.uk were just made up by me - but their servers would have received the email invitation to my test meeting!

A couple of extra things could be mentioned, if you ever decide to do a version 2:
Perhaps stress that it is only the meeting convenor who needs the Webex account
Perhaps a warning to people dialling in that they will be charged for the phone charges - a 3 hour meeting dialled in to London on a mobile may blow the limits on their contract.
It also doesn’t cover the majority of people who get the invitation on their PC or smartphone, who will then want to attend the meeting using that device (i.e. via VoIP) – by pressing the Join Meeting button in the invitation. From my brief test, this does trigger the download of the relevant app, hopefully only for the first time user – but it can delay the start of the meeting if people are not prepared.
My friend discovered how to sort out the Singapore timezone issue - go into Preferences on the left panel, then General and set the correct time zone, then click Save lower down on the page.
