Glenys Lynne (Mynott) started singing at the age of 15 when she won a national "Search for Talent" contest. She sang with the Harold Roy Band on leaving school, and made a name for herself as a solo cabaret singer. She toured South Africa and Zimbabwe with Johnny Kongos and the G-Men, and also had a role in the 1962 film "Jy Is Lieflik Vanaand". She met up with The Zombies in 1964 when they were engaged to back her on the Dickie Loader Show in Cape Town. She subsequently joined The Zombies, and they changed their name to Four Jacks and a Jill.
During the 70s she recorded a number of solo songs and albums, including this one which went to number 7 on the South African Top 20 in 1974, and which charted for 13 weeks. It is a cover of Hey! Joe McKenzie by Vicky Leandros.
