Kid's brains are NOT meant for memorization. We need to start making connections so that kids can map the sounds of words they already know to the letters in a word. 🧠

Using this process in my classroom has allowed me to see a HUGE turn around in not only reading irregular and regular words but also SPELLING them without mistakes.

Join me as I show you an example of how we map some of our trickier words in second grade. I share with you some tricks I do to "make the tricky sticky" such as the sounding out process, our explicit instruction routine, and heart parts. ❤
