To mark the milestone, the Manila studio opened with a grand number led by Anne Curtis, notably with Indonesian elements, from the performers’ garb to the set design, and music.

At the time of the Philippine opening, the Indonesian version was still hours away from its airing, and was making last-minute preparations. Glimpses of that were shown via live feed, with original “It’s Showtime” director Bobet Vidanes and hosts Jugs Jugueta and Teddy Corpuz giving a tour of the studio.

The new franchise premiered at 2 p.m. (3 p.m. Manila time). At that point, the local “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment gave way to a live interaction between the sets of hosts from the original and franchise.

Aside from having the respective live audience or “madlang pipol” greet the other version, the hosts exchanged dance numbers. The Indonesian set performed the “bamboo” dance, as a tribute to Filipinos, while the Kapamilya hosts did the viral “budots” dance craze.

“It’s Showtime Indonesia,” which airs on MNCTV, is the first non-narrative format of ABS-CBN that has been franchised abroad. Its hosts include Luna Maya, Chika Jessica, Raffi Ahmad, Indra Herlambang, and Filipino Leo Consul.

MNCTV’s version of “It’s Showtime” carries popular segments from the original, including “Sine Mo ‘To,” “Cash-Ya! Kaya!” ”Ansabe,” “Copy Cut,” and “Bida Dance.”
