Sanford can't catch a break. While Hank is capable of slipping the consequences of his injuries once again, Sanford is yanked back into the realms just on the edge of the Occurrent Nevada. The Auditor's grasp is weakening in these broken, twisted lands. Sanford's goal is to survive yet another gauntlet to retain their mortality, and with help he can be retrieved. As he finds his way through this place, he is struck by the notion that the machine operates uniformly, and it demands blood. How is this place so familiar???
